Description
Basmati rice has a long grain that cooks relatively dry. This type originally comes from the north of India and is eaten a lot there, just like in Pakistan (close to North India), where the basmati rice from GreenAge comes from. Basmati rice owes its name to its aromatic, refined scent: it is derived from “vasmati”, from Sanskrit, which means “fragrant”. Basmati rice is somewhat longer and thinner than its Thai sister Jasmine and also somewhat drier. The rice is extremely suitable for Indian dishes such as dahl, kedgeree, tikka masala, chicken korma and so on. One of the most eaten types of rice in the world. But then with the nutritious and fiber-rich skin still around it.
