Description
Dried apricots can be eaten as a snack, but of course also (possibly cut into smaller pieces) in pastries, bread, muesli, etc. However, they also fit perfectly in savoury dishes: stew them with cumin or chicken, with or without raisins or currants and dates (pieces)! When most people think of “dried apricots”, they think of the bright orange version of this fruit. And we find this “normal”. However, nothing could be further from the truth, or rather: less logical. The reason that there are bright orange dried apricots at all, is that sulphur is used in the production process – sulphur preserves the fruit and its color. Organic apricots are 100% natural – so without sulphur. And that means a different color: they are browner. But therefore also much tastier and free of a substance that (at least according to GreenAge) has no place in apricots! The apricot originates from Northeast China near the Russian border and arrived in Armenia 3000 years later.
