Description
Amaranth looks like grain, but it is not. Amaranth is a plant with red plumes. The seed of this plant is naturally gluten-free, has a smooth texture and a soft nutty flavour. That is why amaranth is considered an excellent alternative to grain products in the kitchen. Boiled amaranth can be used just like rice. Tip: pop amaranth with the lid on the pan and use it as a base for homemade muesli.
