Description
Rosso selvaggio (loosely translated: “wild red”) naturally grows in clay soil. The whole grain ruby red rice is relatively rare, because it is only grown on a limited scale. Red rice has a unique texture, is white on the inside and is fresh and slightly sweet in taste and therefore fits as a side dish, especially with fish, shellfish and crustaceans. The rice is easily digestible and rich in antioxidants. In Italy, this rice has been given the qualification “extra quality” by the government, which is only reserved for the purest types of rice, which – just like our grower does – are peeled “between stones”.
